COMPARISON

Unique to the Art Case, the identity of the young girl in the 1904 Portrait is not a matter of 'connoisseurship’ with the artist himself answering the central question by the integrity of the working-method to complete the 1898 Gascoigne Commission.
It is a given that Edward Hughes, Royal and Society Portraitist, captures the Gascoigne family likeness in the 1898 and 1904 portraits.

ART CASE

Parental affection and ambition are on display in the portraits of Alvary and Cynthia. Encapsulating the celebrity 'power couples’ own sense of optimism about the Edwardian Gilded Age at Lotherton Hall and Craignish Castle.
